Insurance scammery

Well so, now that my new insurance has started, I have found I got screwed. I talked about WHY I had to change HERE. Anyway, it turns out that even though I told them I HAD to keep the doctors, and the broker PROMISED I could, guess what? This guy, Carl, at Velapoint.com screwed me (don’t deal with Velapoint–they are a rip off). When I called this guy back yesterday, he made some cheesy-ass excuse and PROMPTLY transferred me to a lady at healthcare.gov who told me I was trapped. Neato huh? I had all of one day to find replacement insurance and got screwed. It never matters, I go into stuff in good faith and get fucked by THIEVES. This kind of fucking bullshit is Why I believe we need single payer. Sure, I am sure the government would screw it up, but health care is a right and they’ve now screwed us ALL. I sure hope Trump gets in there and can fix it. I would love to see all the health insurance companies go tits up.

Anyway, aetna, of course, has been totally unhelpful and seemingly going out of their way to make sure I am a disgruntled customer, that I will TELL everyone and never deal with them again. “Oh sir, there’s nothing we can do. You’ll have to keep that account until January. Really, nice. What thieves. Don’t buy from aetna and CERTAINLY do NOT deal w/ velapoint.com. I hate liars and thieves.

Healthcare woes

hulkpainSo, Wednesday morning, I got a shock. Talking to the office manager, I find that not only is my healthcare going WAY up (another $300 a month), but that I was supposed to choose 2 days before what I was going to do but I never got the paper or knew. Ugh. Immediate chest pains and stomach. Ugh. $1750 a month?! That’s like $21,000 a year?!? WTF? I can’t afford that. I was already in serious trouble since last year’s increase of $300. a month. Aaiiiheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, FUCK!

reliefWhen I got home and had time to breathe, I called my car insurance place and wonderful Jennifer there gave me a number to call. Turns out I can get a “silver plan” which is ca. $409. for both the wife and I. Co-pays are less, except for specialists, but the deductible is more, about $3k, but I’m sorry, I cannot pay what they want on the old plan–how can anyone?

As it is, the “Health and welfare” portion of my check, ca. $860. or so a month, well, I can’t use that–only for the company insurance. See, due to the evil machinations of a company I used to work for (no, not the Bad Horsey), most mail contractors don’t pay you the health and welfare money anymore, so as to save on their payroll tax. So, I can’t actually USE the money meant for m insurance unless I buy the company insurance which costs over 4 times what the one I got on the market cost??! 😮 What they do, is put that money in a 401k account. Joy. Hell, the last company, Bad Horsey, well all of it went into the 401k and in the end, he shafted me out of about $20k. Nice huh? A friend too. Wonderful guy who is going to go to jail to learn the lesson that theft and misuse of pension funds is a felony. The government (who is prosecuting him) say he owes our pension plan like $1.8 MILLION dollars–I’ll never see any of it. Anyway, so… with this way, I will have $860 or so in my 401lk each month, still have decent insurance and get a little more in my check each payday (still keeping me poor, but not NEARLY as poor as if I had kept w/ the other insurance). Wow, perhaps I will get to retire someday… I doubt it, but maybe.

Don’t get me wrong, the company insurance wasn’t bad, just expensive… but… I certainly wasn’t thrilled to find out that I had been paying $100 a month more to be out of state either. It had a $1700. deductible.

What I want

Many of my friends call me a “socialist” or some shit because I want single payer health care. Sorry, I believe health care is a basic right. Sorry Fritz, I do. Anyway, the system that we had before was pretty sucky and while the intent was good, the application of Obamacare made things INFINITELY WORSE! “Why can’t we go back? say some. Because, with the advent of Obamacare, the genie is out of the bottle, not to be put back in. M brother Jim thins perhaps it was planned this way to force single-payer. Maybe, I don’t know. I do know that yes, we will pay more taxes for it, but then I won’t be paying nearly the rapacious amount health insurance costs. Organized thievery with no real concern for health.

Many, including Fritzel and my friend Tim, think the government cannot be trusted to run it. Perhaps. But I see no real solution.

Life Goes On

Hopefully, this will help get things back on track with me. I am also working to re-fi the house. It would be done by now, but hit a snag. When I was unemployed due to the shithead ex-owner of Bad Horsey (see how I don’t mention any real names in here…), I got behind on my mortgage and had to get it modified. Somehow, and I don’t remember this at all, they put the difference in a second to be paid off when I sell. It’s taking some time to do, I think it’s called, a subordination. It will be worth it though, as it will lower the mortgage–not as much as I want, but even a little over $100 a month will help.

People just need to chill the fuck out. They worry about what everyone else does. Some, like a person not to be named, get all worked up over dumb things and semantics. We’ve all worked for bosses that demand respect. Hell, in my company, there are managers who think their title means something… they think they’re important and can mess w/ people’s lives. Of course, then they wonder why they have ultra-high turnover. Hell, even I have a hard itme finding drivers. I hold it together by the skin of my doo dads. Rob Peter to pay Paul… cover the run. One of my “children” constantly complains it’s because we don’t have health insurance, but that’s not all of it. Some say we have a “bad name” around here, but that too, is not all of it. Mainly, people don’t wanna work anymore. “What, work on weekends and holidays? Eff you.” Why the Gubment will give them years of unemployment. They’re entitled. Why should they? AND, w/ the driver shortage, it’s harder and harder. We can’t hire a lot of experienced people due to stuff that happened 10-20 years ago — NO SHIT!!! Pennsylvania is especially bad as they don’t take things off your record after the time unless you petition it off. I had a guy had two tickets in his car, back like in 2001?! And I couldn’t hire him because of those tickets… WTF? All because some lawyer might use it in court about hiring someone who HAD A TICKET 10 YEARS AGO 😮 Soon, they’re gonna have to pay us $50. an hour. Most of these companies try and weasel out by hiring new drivers and training them. Sure, go ahead. Of course, in a couple of our terminals, English IS the second language and guess what their record’s like. Sad. I think we have a good company, but a lot of management just doesn’t get the part about needing to learn about management… it ain’t something you just know. Oh well, ain’t my name in chrome letters on the door. Discouragement is my middle name today.

Health Care and some problems

I just read an article on yahoo about Doctors going Bankrupt http://finance.yahoo.com/news/small-business-doctors-going-broke-101200127.html… It’s craxy, but it’s happening because of our Effed up health care system and our truly HORRIBLE legal system; we need Tort Reform NOW!!! Anyway, here below was my ranting answer about this and I feel it’s true still:

Blame EVERYONE wanting a free ride. Blame ambulance-chaser scumbags who file frivolous lawsuits. Blame scammers. However, it’s back to blaming everyone for greed.

There’s no reason we couldn’t have a good health system. Something “like” the UK, Germany, Canada, France or Switzerland have. Yes, I know, say the doubters… it’s baaaad, but what we have is worse. And the joke called “Obamacare” well sorry, but that is INFINITELY worse.Have an answer? I’m waiting. We don’t need perfect, we just need something that works and won’t really screw us — sorry dumb politician scumbags, but telling me I HAVE to buy insurance is a dumb, A$$HOLE thing for you people to do. If I could afford health insurance now, don’t you idiots think I would? Really Barry? Really???

And no right wing, know-it-all nods and crap, about how I don’t know. SOME kind of socialized medicine might be good, but guess what? It needs to be made to work, not by corrupt scumbags in Congress… nor a bloated bureaucracy that is rife w/ corruption. Last, we need to PUNISH cheaters and thieves… how? Oh, for starters, flogging would be a good way to bring down the number of cheats, thieves and scammers. That and fining them to within an inch of their life. Oh, wait, better, why not sell them into indentured SERVITUDE for a set number of years. LOL, THAT WOULD work too. But you all lack the fortitude to make this happen. You think you are entitled, right?!

Sicko

Wow, I watched “Sicko” while in Columbus (it was free, I wasn’t going to waste $$ on Michael”I-hate-America” Moore). Ya know, IF he hadn’t spent so much time attacking George Bush and the Republicans, I’d have agreed more with him a LOT MORE. Much of what he said was right, but he had to be his typical asshole, left-wing, I-hate-America, self and ruin his message by attacking the right. Hell, the left is just as much, or more, to blame for the current shitty state of our health care system.

And YES dillhole, I DO know that he didn’t present some of it, that Moore’s view is one-sided and biased towards the socialist agenda of the left. I know that there are problems to many of these countries health systems, but ours is friggin’ BROKE! Wish we could just talk about it… not scream at each other, but talk.

Anyway, I think the movie IS worth watching. Although I wouldn’t go out and buy it.
