Manners
Why is it people don’t have ANY manners anymore? I know some will blame the Internet–I don’t. It’s more than that. Yes, the ability to insult someone without them punching you in the nose is part of it, but I think it’s more MTV and Nintendo to blame. “What? That fat bastard’s high” you’re thinking… au contraire, mi Amigos… MTV teaches kids/people that their actions don’t really have consequences and Nintendo (PlayStation/X-Box/Wii/etc.) teaches them that violence is okay. “Hmmmmmm…. he’s full of crap…” say you.
But think about it, people on the highway have this mentality of “Screw them, I’ll speed up and not let him in…” or “I’ll cut him off.” You know I’m right too… I drive for a living and I see it every day. Rude assholes who think they and their jalopy are immune to damage!?
Strange Utterances Indeed!
The “F-Bomb” is in common usage, even by little old granny ladies and anything less, well it’s okay… I remember when MY Grandma would have ripped off an earlobe for uttering such words. Now no one cares.
Perhaps it’s the end of our civilization, I don’t know. I DO know that when people had guns on their persons, there was a lot more politeness in evidence :-O Ooooohhhh guns, how icky… I’ll stop there.
